One of my very best friends has recently become vegan. She is doing it temporarily to lose weight as she has seen what it has done to me, but I hope that she decides to stick with it. Temp Gauge is "Floating"?

So, I have a 96 Buick Regal...I have just replaced the Water Pump and put a new Thermostat in it. I also have put new coolant mix in it..yet the gauge still floats? Basically I was working on my statistics final and was trying to insert an excel spreadsheet when word started being stupid. While trying to get it to show the entire spreadsheet in the document it did something ridiculous and essentially had to reopen word. At this point I thought that it had opened a second word window and closed it without saving not realizing it had just closed the first and reopened it making the changes that didnt solve my problem. A reasonable alternative to dried chillis.?

I'm cooking a Massaman curry and part of the recipe calls for 7 soaked dried chillis (and the soaking liquid) to be used in the curry paste. My wife doesn't eat chillis and I'd like to know what I can use as an alternative to impart a similar flavour without the heat. I usually use capscicum when fresh chillis are called for and sweet paprika in place of chilli powder. Tasty substitute for butter?

I am looking to wean myself off of dairy products (cow and goat). I enjoy almond and soy milks, tofu - I have not yet been able to find a decent substitute for butter. My chichlids hurt my telescope goldfish...they nibbled away at his fins and some of his body. I found him side?

Help with tofu recipe please?

We got some tofu the other day so I tried to make some tofu stirfry... I made some really good tofu stirfry a couple of months ago but I forgot to save the recipe! so I spent forever looking for another recipe. I finally found one that looked okay, but when I made it the tofu was WAY too salty. It said to marinate the tofu in soy sauce and garlic, and I cooked veggies seperately (broccoli, mushrooms, peas, onions). I tried the tofu and it was WAY too salty and marinating it made it look really unappetizing (it looked like beef chunks; I'm a vegetarian and I never was a fan of beef before) I put it in with the veggies hoping they'd dilute the salty taste or something, but I ending up taking it out and storing it in the fridge because it was just wayyyyy too salty to eat. Is there any way to make it taste less salty? Oh, and does anyone have any tried and true good recipes using tofu?

Little black dot floaters in my left eye..?

i have sticklers syndrom wich is the hole in the top of the mouth when born reallly bad eyes and retina issues. . my mom and brother both had it and had horrible eye issues, they got so many surgeries about the age of 8. i am 16 and i was laying out side and noticed randomly 6 floaters popped up in my left eye!! ive have 1 for like 5 min. before but never 6 and one was bigger than the other. when i went inside they stayed for about an hour or 2 now one floats by about evey 10 minutes. itw really scaring me but i cant get into the doctors... help :x

I tried a little bit of tofu once because my sister made it. I think it might have been with rice but I don't remember. Let's just say that a few weeks ago I found myself in a very deep meditative state. I felt myself slowly being separated from the room I was in. It was as if I had been a two-dimensional being all my life, and suddenly I had stepped off the screen into a more three-dimensional space. Maybe it would be better described as a fourth dimension? I don't know. The objects in the room were all the same, yet different. The way in which I became separated was very interesting to me. The room seemed to slightly pixelate in the process, as if it had not been "real" all along, as if it had been programed. As I was sinking deeper and deeper into the dark caverns of my consciousness, I found myself in an unexpected place. Although I could still see the room around me, I was looking at it through what I would describe as a spherical wall of screens. To help you imagine it, think of the way a bee or a fly might see the world through it's hundreds of eyes.I was standing (though not physically) in a dark center of space surrounded by these "screens", and I saw the room. I got the sense that this was the "control center" of my mind. Time had completely stopped. Time was irrelevant. A minute or an hour could have passed, and I would not be able to tell you which was true. I was in the midst of eternity. I felt something else was with me. It wasn't physical, but I could feel it's presence close to me. I want to say that it was separate from me, but I suddenly realized that I was it, and it it was me. I asked it to tell me why I was shown this place. It told me that sometimes it needed to remind itself where it had come from and what it's purpose on earth was. It told me it had left small clues in our world to help us remember where it came from and why. Suddenly I was thrown even deeper into space only to find myself (my consciousness) floating above an incredible sight.In the middle of dark space I witnessed something unexpected. I'm not quite sure how to even begin to describe it. I'm not sure words in the English language exist that would be adequate to describe what I saw. In fact while I was deep in it, I thought to myself "How the hell do I describe this when I'll want to explain to someone what I saw???" but I will try. I witnessed our universe being born and reborn over and over and over again at very high speeds. It wasn't like the "big bang", it was more like a loop that constantly turned inside out. It was like the shape of an inverse-rotating donut, or I suppose what some would describe as the symbol for "infinity". It was a giant, infinite fractal. This Universe was not what we believe it to be. It performed a function, and that function was to constantly generate new possibilities. Much like computers in our world (though extraordinarily/severely basic in comparison) the Universe was like a giant calculator/generator producing infinite possibilities through complex mathematical equations.There was a strong presence/consciousness hanging over it. This "calculator/computer" Universe was the creation of this consciousness, and it overlooked every single little action with incredible yet effortless and tireless concentration. I suppose that this presence is the thing to which many people refer to as "God". I felt a oneness with this being. I finally understood that I was it, it was me, it was you, it was the grass, it was the rock, it was the ant, the bird, the wind, the sky, the earth,.... it was everything. It was love, hate, anger, sadness, it was us. Imagine yourself being cut into a quadrillion pieces, and those individual pieces being able to have experiences of their own, separate from the whole. According to my vision that's what our world is. The world and all of us, we are IT. Since I realized what an important moment this was, I did not want to miss asking the big question. My question was "How did you come to be? Where did this start?" It replied in a form of exchanging a thought in my mind, and the answer was that it simply WAS. It just IS. It did not know why or how, in fact it did not care for why or how, it didn't feel the need to know why or how, it just WAS. Since we humans experience a "beginning" and an "end" on this earth via birth and death, it is very difficult for us to imagine something having no beginning and no end. It seems inconceivable, much like the idea of infinity, something without an end. We try to imagine it, but we struggle to come to terms with the fact that something may not have an end or a beginning. I can't say I felt satisfied by that answer for the reason I mentioned just now, but I accepted it. My next question was why we were here. Understanding came to me in the form of seeing. In a manner of speaking it split itself into an incomprehensible number of pieces in order to learn. It was like an enormous calculator

Don't try to gain weight. If your healthy you should work on maintaining your weight instead . All I can say is maybe when you agreed to gain weight you ate so much that your body is now used to gaining weight.

Vegan guidlines, what can I or can't I eat?

What are some ways to cook tofu?

Just introduced by Betta fish to another aquarium..is he happy?

I just transferred by Betta into an already existing 10 gallon tank with 2 cories, 3 tetras, and molly and a platy. I let him float in a bag for 15 minutes to see the other fish, then put him in. It's been about 30 minutes and they haven't attacked him at all, just checking him out. Thing is, he's just chilling in the corner and hasn't moved from there. Does this mean he hates it? I have a Red Eared Slider and I washed his tank with soap earlier today (BIG mistake) and I couldn't get all of it to rinse out. My turtle seems okay so far. No puffy eyes, and he's eating just fine. He's been in there for about two hours. I have a filter. He is blowing bubbles out of his nose, but only when he's under water. He also hasn't done any basking since I put him in there, but it is a new tank so that could be part of the problem. I don't know if that's something to worry about or if I'm just being paranoid.

What I do so as to not waste paper towels-place in a collander over a bowl-and let drain naturally-then after about 10 minutes-push down with your palm-and let drain again. Make sure you use the extra firm tofu if you are doing mock fish sticks, etc..You can also put it in the freezer ahead of time, thaw it-and it will be much firmer. I use tofu for so many things in my restaraunt-I make tofu mayo, tofu sour cream, tofu cheese, scrambled tofu for breakfast in burritos, as a scrambled egg, etc.. Go on the web and type in these things I have mentioned(not enough room to give you recipes)-and try some for yourself! when i was a little girl i had a playstation 1. back then it was when pyro the dragon (the original) was out. i had 2 video games. one whcih was spyro. and another one which was about a dog. i think he was a puppy since i remember he was cute. he was a dalmation,and i would be the controler (ofcourse). there was one level which he had to get across a hole in the ice. it was a long hole of water,like a path. the setting in that level was very simple. it was as if he was in a ice skating accept he wasnt. the reason i say that is because the ground was made of ice,and under the ice was freezing water. some of the ice was brocken and the rest is obvious. some chunks of ice were floating in front of him and me being him in the game,id have to jump across the ice parts to get to wherever that leaded to. i only remember passing that level once,and im sure it was easy but i was very young at the time. thats the only memory i have of the video game. im sure it was a video game because i would play it in my playstation one. if this sounds familiar to anyone please inform me. i googled it and the only things that would come up were nintendo games but ive never owned a nintendo. infact my playstation broke in my 9th birthday i think,or 11 and i havent had another one since,though it was old anyway. now im 15 so you can do the math of the year i had played it. thank you! anyone have any ideas?

Pressure in my ears when underwater?

I can't swim but i stay in the shallow water in our pool which is only 3-4 feet. But even then, when i go under water I feel pressure and it feels werid I dont like it! How is closing a toddler's bedroom door at night wrong?

There is nothing wrong with it. I am sure that their room is safe and I have yet to see a door that is sound proof from a childs cries. I honestly think it is safer then letting them wonder the house or even sneak out when you are busy doing something else. It is nearly impossible to watch a child every second of the day and this could help keep them contained in their own little safe area while you sleep at night or cook a meal or do a chore. I have 4 kids and they are all in bed at night, in their own beds, lights off, door shut and they are all safe, happy and healthy. It's hard to keep this as a secret from your child, cause he can also learn about it at school. If nobody tells him/her that sex is not good for a kid, then he will definitely want to try it. I have been feeling for the past 6 months of what I think may be depersonalization. I am not sure that it is, but it's the closest thing that describes how I feel. I have read the symptoms of people who have had it and how I feel is nothing compared to the severity of their symptoms. So i recently got a new MIM Strat and got it set up professionally with heavier gauge strings. However, after stretching the strings and playing it for a few days, i still had a little bit of a tuning problem, so i replaced the three stock springs in the back with 4 new ones. Our contemporary house has a cathedral ceiling over the main living space and a huge ceiling fan. When we bought the home, the fan is set for the winter direction, pulling the air up. There does not appear to be a switch to change the direction to push the air down nor is there a remote control. Does anyone know how to change the direction if there is no visible switch or remote. I smoked 2 joints one right after another and called my friend and I was talking about the stars then all of a sudden I went to space (in my mind) and I was floating around and spinning in circles and crazy stuff like that then all of a sudden I stopped being happy and started panicking. My boyfriend saw a shadow figure holding me down but couldn't move?

Last night, around 5 or so in the morning my boyfriend rolled over and grabbed me asking if I was okay. Would you put laminate flooring in a kitchen or laundry room?

This is just my opinion, but i think that laminate is better than having wood floors in a kitchen! I have laminate in my laundry room, and tile in my kitchen. the handy part about laminate is that it easily comes up, and you have quick access to underneath, need be. if you spill, on carpet, it can leave a stain, and even begin to smell. water spilled on wood floor can damage the wood if not gotten up quickly. I'd say tile or laminate are your best bet for somewhere prone to spills.

How to get rid of swim bladder disease?

My goldfish has been floating up to the top of the tank for a little while. I treated by giving peas right away, and Babykins stop floating so rapidly to the top and stop flipping upside down when she reached the top. Now poor Babykins is still having some floating issues. She is slowly floating to the top, very slowly. I feel like she can't sleep because she can't relax. If she keeps floating and can't rest at the bottom of the tank, how can she sleep? Her water conditions are perfect from what I've checked. She is having some balancing problems. Checker, her tank mate, is fine with no swim bladder issues, though he is small with balancing issues as well. He is very happy all the same. Babykins seems happy too but I feel so terrible that she can't even relax. I do feed peas and only peas (I gave some flake foods earlier on in the day ((I know it's bad for them but they eat nothing else, they are picky. They do eat sinking pellets but that makes swim bladder worse)) so I haven't stuck to the pea diet very well). Now I am planning to stay to only peas for a days or so, and see what happens but I would love to know other ways to help poor Babykins. She is a fancy goldfish, and I do know they are prone to swim bladder problems. The salt bath is no option because I can't find aquarium salt and my mom will not take me to big al's for a long while. I already made her go two times in one day, she was really frustrated. So maybe one or two weeks until I will ever be able to go again. Please help tell me some home methods of getting rid of swim bladder problems. I NEED YOUR HELP! :) Thanks

I keep having this recurring dream but I don't know what it means?

I keep on having a recurring dream where I can fly but not properly, it's more like a really high jump, but when i'm in the air I sort of float slowly back down but it's really hard to control my movement in these dreams, also in these dreams I'm often running away from someone I can't see or trying to run to somewhere but I just can't get there. I have no idea why I have these dreams so any sort of explanations would be brilliant

Molly floating Randomly?

Let's just say that a few weeks ago I found myself in a very deep meditative state. I felt myself slowly being separated from the room I was in. It was as if I had been a two-dimensional being all my life, and suddenly I had stepped off the screen into a more three-dimensional space. Maybe it would be better described as a fourth dimension? I don't know. The objects in the room were all the same, yet different. The way in which I became separated was very interesting to me. The room seemed to slightly pixelate in the process, as if it had not been "real" all along, as if it had been programed. As I was sinking deeper and deeper into the dark caverns of my consciousness, I found myself in an unexpected place. Although I could still see the room around me, I was looking at it through what I would describe as a spherical wall of screens. To help you imagine it, think of the way a bee or a fly might see the world through it's hundreds of eyes.I was standing (though not physically) in a dark center of space surrounded by these "screens", and I saw the room. I got the sense that this was the "control center" of my mind. Time had completely stopped. Time was irrelevant. A minute or an hour could have passed, and I would not be able to tell you which was true. I was in the midst of eternity. I felt something else was with me. It wasn't physical, but I could feel it's presence close to me. I want to say that it was separate from me, but I suddenly realized that I was it, and it it was me. I asked it to tell me why I was shown this place. It told me that sometimes it needed to remind itself where it had come from and what it's purpose on earth was. It told me it had left small clues in our world to help us remember where it came from and why. Suddenly I was thrown even deeper into space only to find myself (my consciousness) floating above an incredible sight.In the middle of dark space I witnessed something unexpected. I'm not quite sure how to even begin to describe it. I'm not sure words in the English language exist that would be adequate to describe what I saw. In fact while I was deep in it, I thought to myself "How the hell do I describe this when I'll want to explain to someone what I saw???" but I will try. I witnessed our universe being born and reborn over and over and over again at very high speeds. It wasn't like the "big bang", it was more like a loop that constantly turned inside out. It was like the shape of an inverse-rotating donut, or I suppose what some would describe as the symbol for "infinity". It was a giant, infinite fractal. This Universe was not what we believe it to be. It performed a function, and that function was to constantly generate new possibilities. Much like computers in our world (though extraordinarily/severely basic in comparison) the Universe was like a giant calculator/generator producing infinite possibilities through complex mathematical equations.There was a strong presence/consciousness hanging over it. This "calculator/computer" Universe was the creation of this consciousness, and it overlooked every single little action with incredible yet effortless and tireless concentration. I suppose that this presence is the thing to which many people refer to as "God". I felt a oneness with this being. I finally understood that I was it, it was me, it was you, it was the grass, it was the rock, it was the ant, the bird, the wind, the sky, the earth,.... it was everything. It was love, hate, anger, sadness, it was us. Imagine yourself being cut into a quadrillion pieces, and those individual pieces being able to have experiences of their own, separate from the whole. According to my vision that's what our world is. The world and all of us, we are IT. Since I realized what an important moment this was, I did not want to miss asking the big question. My question was "How did you come to be? Where did this start?" It replied in a form of exchanging a thought in my mind, and the answer was that it simply WAS. It just IS. It did not know why or how, in fact it did not care for why or how, it didn't feel the need to know why or how, it just WAS. Since we humans experience a "beginning" and an "end" on this earth via birth and death, it is very difficult for us to imagine something having no beginning and no end. It seems inconceivable, much like the idea of infinity, something without an end. We try to imagine it, but we struggle to come to terms with the fact that something may not have an end or a beginning. I can't say I felt satisfied by that answer for the reason I mentioned just now, but I accepted it. My next question was why we were here. Understanding came to me in the form of seeing. We used a floating chlorine feeder last year and it worked great. This year we keep getting zero chlorine levels and my stabilizer is fine. Do the floating chlorinators go bad or something? Its not gummed up or anything.

Ways to consume tofu - i cant cook but have microwave?

I'd invest in some sort of conventional oven.. you're altering the structure of your foods when you microwave it, destroying the nutrients in your food, making them harmful. Wal-mart if definitely not the place to be looking for tofu. Try a whole foods, or at least find a decent store to purchase it from. Tofu is a touchy subject with the way some companies process it and the likelihood of it being genetically modified is quite high. But really cutting it into cubes, and marinating it with what you like.. personally I use habenero sauce from time to time, sometimes I tamari, which is a type of soy sauce. Comes out quite nice either way.

Strange dream. Can someone interpret it?

Ok so I don't really remember how it begins I just remember it being dark and strangly comforting. Someone, I think a girl, was trying to talk to me. I don't remember what she said or what I said back but then all of a sudden, It was light(This is where I remember the most and its the most vivid). I found myself in this gaint room filled with pools of water and many many people. I just knews that if you jump into these pools, you will be reincarnated. I don't know why but I just did. But two weid things about the people. One was: I kept seeing john lennon, very strange. And number two: I saw my mom. She was sitting with her best friend and they were talking and I kept trying to get her attention and she wouldnt look at me. She finnally dived in with her friend and I got this overwelming saddness and addventure. I said to myself "I hope she's my mom in my next life"... yeah. The building looked really old. It was made of light colored stone covered and ivory vines all around it. There was light shineing in from all around so it was cheery. There was also big dragon statues made in the same stone on the edges of the drop off were you dived in to the water to be reincarnated. I was walking when I was at this darker, pool with statue animal heads that opened there mouth to let you in to riencarnation with sighns around there necks of requirements to be let in here. I was looking and all of them just said love, or love love love, or love love ext. I got this overwhelming feeling just to dive in. No one was around and it was only me. I dove in. When I got in I heard the lion head say "haha! Take that another for me!" He was for sports stars. I said "No, I want the dog!" And floated over to the dog head. He was so happy and was like" Yess! Finnally!!". He was for planets, life on other planets and peace. On my way over, The other lioness, for healing, sick, and mothering gave me a dirty look.
